Fictional Candy is review friendly. Currently this website is run by one person –
me (Liz). Occassionally I may have a
guest reviewer. They may review a book
from their own list, or a book from mine.
If you are an author and do not want a guest reviewer, please be sure to
tell me so when we discuss your review.

My current turnaround time for reviews is approximately 5
months. Your review could be before this time, or after. I reserve all rights to adjust the schedule
as I see needed. If your book requires a
review by a certain date, please let me know ahead of time so that we can
discuss your specific needs. I am very
flexible, but I will not be able to accommodate last minute date requests. If you do not give me a date requirement I
will do my best to read your book in a “First In, First Out” order. However, I do participate in a lot of book tours, and those have specific deadlines. If I feel the time for reviewing your book is taking longer than I had originally expected, I will email you and let you know that you are indeed still on my list.

I cross post my reviews in as many places as possible. Right now those places are:

I am also a member in a couple tribes on Triberr. ( http://www.triberr.com ). This ensures that each blog post I have will
be retweeted among thousands of Twitter members. My current reach is over 259,000 people (4-18-12).

let me know. It is usually not difficult
to sign up somewhere new.

I accept print and Kindle compatible formats only. This includes mobi, prc, pdf, &
html. I can guarantee you that I respect
your rights and will not give or share my copy of your book with anyone other
than a reviewer for Fictional Candy. I
will not copy or distribute your digital book.
In some cases of print bound copies, I may include them in a future
giveaway on my website. They will never
be sold.
If you are giving me a PDF please make sure it is compatible with reading on a kindle. I can't tell you how difficult it is reading a font that is super light or super tiny. In the future I will begin rejecting books where I have to struggle to see it.

I will not review poetry, nonfiction, overly
religious fiction and overly political fiction.
I reserve the right to deny any review request.
If at some point during reading your book I decide I can’t
complete the book for whatever reason, I will notify you as soon as
possible. Unfortunately this does happen
from time to time. Most often the reason
would be very poor editing, but could include other reasons also. I also may not finish reading your book if I feel it will not find a large audience on my website.

When leaving a review I will do my very best to not leave “spoilers”. I want your body of work to remain a surprise
for the next reader as much as you do.
From time to time, I may issue a warning if I feel the
content warrants it. This warning will
only be on my website, Fictional Candy. This is my website, and I feel a
certain responsibility to my readers. I
currently do not have an 18+ rating on my site. If you do not agree with my warning, let me
know. Perhaps we can reword it together
if need be. Worst case scenario, I will
remove the review completely – but not without discussing this with you beforehand.

I very much enjoy doing different promotional posts. If you are interested in an interview, doing
a guest post, an excerpt from your book, or something else entirely please
contact me. I also would be very happy
to do a giveaway with your promotional post and/or review. Swag giveaways are also a welcome
addition. From time to time when I offer
a physical giveaway (rather than digital or monetary) I like to include swag in
the package. I have a collection of book
marks, trading cards, and things like that.
If you would like to include yours in my next outgoing package please
contact me for a shipping address.

compensation. I will note in each review the format and the way I
